A pioneer in her own right the late Mrs. Sankerdaye Sadal along with her husband started a humble family business in the 1960s. The couple retailed food produce in two of Trinidad’s most popular community markets i.e. the Chaguanas and Tunapuna markets. The late Mrs. Sankerdaye Sadal taught her four children the importance of having quality food produce to satisfy their customers’ needs at affordable prices.

The year 1991 ushered a new beginning as one of those four children, Mr. Krishna Sadal, had the innovative idea of expanding the family business. This was the birth of Pepe’s Marketing Limited and this new operation was now located on Bedassie Street St Augustine.

Pepe’s Group, after already acquiring warehousing and walk-in chillers, invested in a fleet of trucks and trailers soon after to facilitate the increased weekly imports. This became absolutely necessary as the group needed to keep up with its high consumer demands.

Fast forward to the year 2010 during the month of May, Pepe’s Group purchased a larger property of 80,000 square feet. This property was the new location for the Pepe’s Group and offered ample space for The Group’s operations. In 2012 the Pepe’s Group had completed construction of its new Complex and officially relocated on the very same road, Orange Grove Road, St. Augustine (in close proximity to its initial base).

Fast track to 6 years thereafter, 2018, The Group expanded its storage facility even further. A second complex was erected, this time on Freeman Road, east of the initial complex a mere street away. This new storage facility included an additional chiller with the capacity to hold up to 4,000 pallets backed by an efficient racking system.

With the combined experiences of the Sadals, we have over 40 years of experience in importing/exporting and distributing locally and in the Caribbean, a wide range of bulk food products such as peas, beans and seeds, dried and glacé fruits, salted fish and smoked herring, potatoes, onions, garlic, cheese etc.

• Dried peas, beans and seeds: Lentils, lima, kidney beans etc.
• Dried fruits: raisins, prunes, currants etc.
• Glacé fruits: citrus peel, cherries, tutti frutti
• Picked meats: pork tails, snout, boneless beef etc.
• Salt Fish: smoke herring and salt fish
• Fresh produce: potatoes, onions, garlic etc.
• Cheddar cheese: Australian, New Zealand and Irish origin
• Produce: vegetable cooking oil, garlic, onion, rice, salt, sugar

4. Pepe’s Warehousing Limited

Pepe’s Marketing Limited is our Food Division which specializes in the importation and exportation of high quality food commodities. Our brands are Nature’s Pride, Fruits of the Sun, Catch, Sunripe, Farmer’s Select and our ‘superfoods’ range, Nature’s Pride. We also offer bulk produce versions of these brand name commodities as well as bulk offerings of picked meats, fresh produce and variations of cheddar cheeses.
